Seeking a more organic look than green screen for this spot, Cablevision’s Hispanic agency wanted to try front projection, so Crooked River designed implementation of a powerful xenon video projector to insert the brand’s spokesperson into scenes of 2D graphics.
A follow-spot was used to carve the actor out of the video projections, and his foot stool and set wall painted with a highly pigmented white paint to maximize their reflectivity. The actions, script, and video were choreographed so that the projections finish before the actor leaves, giving the viewer a “look behind the curtain”, distinct from more routine composite shots.
